- Hoyas require a well-draining soil and prefer a soil mix with added drainage such as perlite or fine bark. They like a thorough drink whilst being allowed to drain fully and dry out completely between waterings. Both air flow and plentiful humidity are vital to a bountiful Hoya, however they are resilient and cope well with incorrect care for a while, enabling you to correct the positioning or watering without it throwing it’s toys out of the proverbial pram!
